Hi Friends! I hope you have all recovered from the long weekend (if you were lucky enough to have one) and are back into the swing of things. One thing I’ve been thinking about a lot today is all the fad diets that are out there. They all claim to be the best plan on the market today, and they offer testimonials from folks who have had great success with each plan. Some plans restrict carbs; some plans eliminate sugar. Some plans tell you that you can eat whatever you want as long as you accumulate less than 12 points per day. Well, some of these plans might work for some people, but they sure can’t work for everyone. So how do you figure out which plan is right for you?
Well, I can give you a couple theories…first of all, you could try each plan until you find one that works. That could take awhile, and could give you really bad results until you get to the diet that works. This doesn’t seem like such a hot idea to me.
Or…you could consult a professional (such as myself – hint, hint, wink, wink) to help you out. What you really need is to just eat healthy. Everyone needs to eat healthy. That’s the basic, bottom line. Some people often have symptoms or conditions that are related to diet and lifestyle. This is where the individuality comes into play. A person who struggles with chronic fatigue will need a different focus than someone who has a candida overgrowth. These are both very common problems that many people encounter, yet they don’t realize they could be aggravating the problem by eating the wrong foods and doing the wrong exercise. But what we learn isn’t really about the negatives. It’s not about don’t eat white sugar; it’s more about add raw honey and nutrient rich maple syrup into your diet as sweeteners. It’s not about, stop eating pasta; it’s about trying spaghetti squash with sauce. It’s about trying new things and learning new ways to cook old favorites so they become fuel for your body. It’s about learning how to control insulin levels to reduce cravings and hunger, and control your fat-burning machine.
